COURTESY OF TERRI BARR
I used this recipe at a birthday party I held for my husband, Bob. I used four pounds of beef and had about 5 meatballs left at the end of the evening, they were very popular.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb Highland ground beef
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1⁄3 cup fine breadcrumbs
- ¾ tsp salt (I used seasoning salt)
- ¼ tsp fresh ground pepper
DIRECTIONS
Mix sour cream & breadcrumbs and allow to soften for 10 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Shape into 1-inch balls and arrange on a baking sheet. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 15 minutes. DO NOT over bake.
Serve with dipping sauce. I just used BBQ sauce and it was a hit.
Make a big batch and freeze, defrost to use with spaghetti sauce etc.
