Spicy Italian Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 2kg of beef
  • 500 ml breadcrumbs
  • 20 ml of minced garlic
  • 5 ml mustard (powder)
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 125 ml of fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
  • 5 ml black pepper
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 375 ml of BBQ sauce
  • 75 ml of ketchup
  • 125 ml of water
  • 200 ml of tomato paste
  • 75 ml brown sugar


Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients for meatballs. Form balls of 2.5 cm in diameter.

  2. Cook the meatballs in a shallow baking dish. Allow 20 minutes cooking at 350 F/180 C.

  3. Transfer the meatballs in the stoneware pot of the slow cooker. Mix the sauce ingredients to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Pour it over the meatballs.

  4. Cover and cook on low setting 4 hours or 2 hours at high setting
